Membership is open to any person working in the science and research fields and/or sectors, irrespective of race, creed, colour, sex, or profession.

How to Join USRAWU

Step 1: Obtain Application Form

  • Download from this website (link below)

  • Or collect from our Head Office or any branch

Step 2: Complete the Form

  • Fill in all required details accurately

  • Attach supporting documents (if required)

Step 3: Submit to General Secretary

  • Submit via email: usrawu@gmail.com

  • Or deliver to our Head Office

Step 4: Pay Membership Fee

  • Upon approval, pay the non-refundable entry fee

Step 5: Confirmation

  • You will receive a membership certificate and welcome package

Your Rights as a Member

  • Right to vote by secret ballot in Union decisions

  • Right to attend and speak at Union meetings

  • Right to stand for election (if dues are up to date)

  • Right to appeal disciplinary actions

Your Obligations

  • Pay monthly subscriptions promptly (3 months arrears may lead to removal)

  • Adhere to the Constitution and NEC decisions

  • Act in the interest of the Union

  • Notify the General Secretary of any change in employment

Resignation

Any member may resign by giving one month’s written notice to the General Secretary. All outstanding subscriptions must be paid before resignation is processed.

Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated for:

  • Loss of eligibility qualifications

  • Misconduct prejudicial to the Union’s welfare

  • Arrears of 3 months without justifiable grounds

Members have the right to appeal any termination at the next Delegates Conference.

A: Yes. USRAWU welcomes members from both public and private sectors.

Q: Is the membership fee refundable if I leave?

A: No. All fees and subscriptions are non-refundable.

Q: How do I pay my monthly subscription?

A: Through employer check-off system (where available) or direct bank deposit.

Q: Can I be a member if I change jobs?

A: Yes. Notify the General Secretary, and the NEC may allow you to retain membership.
